Day 01: The Journey Inland to the Adventure Capital

Morning & Afternoon: Drive to Kitulgala

Depart from the airport and head toward Kitulgala, a small town nestled amidst forested hills and bisected by the wide, roaring Kelani River. As the landscape transitions from flat plains to dramatic, deep green valleys, you will arrive at your riverside adventure eco-lodge.

Evening: Gear Up and Briefing

Meet your professional adventure guides for a safety briefing, equipment fitting, and an overview of the river dynamics. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing by the rushing waters of the river, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the lowland rainforest.

Day 01 Activities

Drive further up into the steep mountain terrain toward Nallathanniya, the remote base village located at the foot of the sacred mountain, Sri Pada (Adam’s Peak). The route winds through endless, misty green tea estates and massive mountain reservoirs. Arrive at your lodge, eat a high-carb dinner, and get some early sleep.

Night: The Holy Mountain Climb

Wake up just before midnight to begin your midnight ascent of Adam’s Peak, an iconic 2,243-meter pyramid-shaped mountain. Armed with headlamps and sheer determination, you will take on the grueling climb up thousands of stone steps alongside local pilgrims.

Day 03 Activities

  • Mountain Drive: Travel past beautiful vistas of the Castlereagh and Maussakelle reservoirs tucked inside deep mountain valleys.
  • Midnight Peak Ascent: Begin the challenging 5,000-plus stone step vertical climb up the sacred mountain under the night sky.

Day 05: Trekking the Edge of the World

Afternoon: High-Flying Zipline & Nine Arch Bridge
